Associates are a group of partners who exhibit a special dedication for the ministry and vision of Baja Christian Ministries.  They are ones who roll up their sleeves and use their specific gifts to help weave a nationwide, working net that extends far into Baja and the United States.

As good stewards, they keep Christ's words in Matthew 25 in mind: "Well done good and faithful servant.  You have been trustworthy in a few things.  I will put you in charge of many things; enter into the joy of your Lord."  They are into multiplying.  They know that anything that they do to build the ministry in the U.S., will multiply the ministry in Mexico.

The primary role of Associates is to introduce new people, churches, and corporations to the ministry of BCM and to mobilize them to be involved through many avenues of participation.  Spread across a wide geographical area, Associates are a point of communication and coordination.  Closely communicating with the California BCM office, Associates form local BCM groups in different cities.  Simply, Associates serve as advocates and local representatives of the Ministry.

In the next five years, BCM has several main goals:

bulletPlant 50 full-service churches in 50 Mexican communities
bulletDevelop a network of evangelism teams, tools, & resources
bulletBuild 200 or more houses per year
bulletDevelop a corporate gifts-in-kind network (donations of food, building materials, hygiene products, tracts/Bibles, etc.)
bulletDevelop a short-term missions program for youth

In order to meet these goals, BCM needs a commensurate number of Associates and volunteers to speak out and help organize, mobilize, and accomplish these tasks as God directs.

What are things an Associate might do?

Increase the visibility of BCM
By referral or self introduction, meet with friends, new contacts, church leaders, civic groups, business people, or others and share the ministry of BCM.  This may be through letters, telephone calls, personal meetings, slide shows, video circulation, or special events.

Organize a local "Cord" Group
Invite and host a regular group of BCM partners residing in a local area to periodically meet together.  Gatherings are a time to pray for the ministry, share experiences, fellowship, identify special skills within the group, plan special projects in Mexico, and set up fund raisers such as banquets, tournaments, etc.  Maybe you just came back from a Mexico missions trip, and want to go back again, but want to bring more friends and groups to share the experience.

Serve as an on-going contact and coordination point
Ensure that communication and resources flow between the local groups and the BCM hub.  Associates can serve as contact points for helping procure and transport material donations.  Connecting and intertwining the "Cord" groups together, the BCM network will grow stronger and be farther reaching on both sides of the border.  As the net is cast, the catch will be multiplied.
