End of the Year Update

Dear friends and partners,

It is with much joy and thankfulness to our Lord, that we are writing to tell you of all the wonderful things God has been doing through Baja Christian Ministries (BCM) this year. Our loving God is moving powerfully and strategically as He has been graciously orchestrating some mighty things through His people from both sides of the border.

As a result of His goodness, BCM has been witnessing and experiencing some fruitful and exciting times both through many wonderful BCM house build and ministry teams and also through the service of BCM staff members in various functions and capacities throughout greater Tijuana and the Baja Peninsula.

In such a time as this when we are all witnessing worldwide evil growing and ever increasing we are also seeing the Kingdom of God expand. What an exciting time to be living in! Baja in particular is a place that we can so evidently see the hand of God moving powerfully and we are seeing thousand coming to know the Lord. We must continue to be the church that is being mobilized and responding to the call of the great commission to “Go,” and make disciples in all of the world. More than ever, we must become the church that is “on the way out the door,” to reach the lost by overcoming evil by doing good (Romans 12:21).

As Christians, we are called to first love the Lord with all our heart, soul and mind and second to love our neighbors as ourselves.  In times such as these, with terror and confusion surrounding us, it is easy for us to live in fear and forget the second part of that command.  The Lord will not leave us and we must remember the promises that He has given us.  Psalm 41:1-3 says, “Blessed is the man who considers the poor!  In the day of trouble the Lord delivers him; the Lord protects him and keeps him alive; he is called blessed in the land, you do not give him up to the will of his enemies.  The Lord sustains him on his sickbed; in his illness you restore him to full health.”  Let us keep our eyes fixed on our Savior, so that regardless of what happens around us, we can be beacons of light to those around us and not neglect the poor in their time of need.

Throughout this year there have been many great stories of “overcomers,” that we have seen here at BCM; from the reuniting of long-lost families, of radical salvations, of witnessing the servant-heartedness of a woman without arms pleading for a house so she could look after her aging parents, to the cries of widows being heard and miraculously provided for.  In fact, these stories only paint a picture of what God is doing in the hearts of people.  Our prayer is that these stories will spark in your hearts a longing to serve the Lord more, whether with us in Baja or wherever God has specifically placed you.

We hope you enjoy reading the rest of our BCM year-end newsletter which gives a small glimpse into the many great things God is doing through BCM.  Thanks to your continued prayers and support, we are seeing more and more lives coming to Christ and being completely transformed by the saving work of the Holy Spirit.

We are so excited to see what God has next for us here at BCM and are so thankful to you all for coming along on this journey with us!
