Baja (BCM) Update and Prayer Letter 12/5/09
Sunday, December 6, 2009 at 07:25PM
Dear Prayer Partner,
Thank you for your prayers that have been so vital and effective! BCM has a pretty busy December ahead of us in house building and ministry! After last week when we had Mariners Church, the Crossing Church, Building Champions Across the Border, and Pillar Development/Home For Home Program bring so much blessing to many poor families in various communities...again, the blessing of our Lord continues!
This morning a team from San Diego led by Doug Ament and Rob Curtis has been working away to build two houses for poor families outside TJ. One of these families lost their home in a recent fire. A friend and partner of the ministry gave funding for a house allowing for a second home to be built for this family who suffered this loss through fire. Our BCM evangelism tag team also worked with them in the surrounding areas around the homes being built. Thanks for your prayers, for God's protection and blessing!
Next weekend we have have more teams coming to serve: San Clemente Prebyterian Church and Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo are coming to build. Also, another friend and partner gave a gift to fund a home. I asked Daniel Strand if he would pull a team together to build it. Even with this short notice he has pulled together a team to replace the home of this other family who lost their home through this same fire.
Also, when Chad Youngquist, Craig Ronning and the Home for Home team was with us last week they met, by divine arrangement, another family who lost a home and a small store to a fire in another location. Home for Home chose to come back again to replace the loss of this family by building a home and small store for them. If you are on facebook you can read more of the story here:
Also, that same weekend, Taylor Redmond, a student from Cal Poly, San Luis Obisbo, is leading his third team, three years in a row, of fellow students from this college, to build two homes for needy families Dec 13-15.
While Malibu Presbyterian Church was building with us a few weeks ago, a grandma that lives in a very leaky patchwork house approached us. Several leaders from Malibu Pres: Mike Mudgett, Phil Dunn, Tim Jones, and Chris Laubach visited her home with us. They assessed the need and decided to come back Dec 19-20 to build a home for her, her husband and 3 nephews. Chris Laubach and his son Andrew have pulled a team together from Loyola High School to build this home on the weekend of Dec 19-20.
Please keep all of these teams in your prayers as they make preparations to serve our King in this needy, ripe harvest field of Baja!
This is our BCM house build and ministry schedule in the month of December through year end:
Dec 5 Doug Ament,Rob Curtis, Pasquale Russo and team from, Point Loma CA to build 2 homes
Dec 11-13 Dean Monohan, San Clemente Presbyterian Church, CA to build 1 home
Dec 12-13 Youngquist family and Pillar Development/ Home For Home Program to build 1 home
Dec 12-13 Chris Wade, Daniel Strand and team from Life Springs Church of Torrance to build 1 home
Dec 13-15 Taylor Redmond and team from Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo, CA to build 2 homes
Dec 19-20 Chris & Andrew Laubach, Loyola High School, Agoura Hills & Malibu Presbyterian Church 1 home

Dec 28-Jan 4 Ingrid Klein and team from Teen Mania/Global Expeditions to build to 2 homes
Now faith is the substance of things hoped for and the evidence of things not seen (Heb 11:1) ...through your prayers and the help given by the Spirit of Jesus Christ...(Phil 1:19) ...calling things that are not as though they were...(Rom 4:17) ...believing that you have recieved it and it will be yours (Mark 11:24)... help us by your prayers. Then many will give thanks on our behalf for the gracious favor granted us in answer to the prayers of many. (2Cor 9:11-NIV) The prayers of the righteous man/woman is powerful and effective (James 5:16)
With these Scripture verses and promises in mind, I ask you to please help us through your prayers..."to pray the specific amount money in" that is needed, at this time, for this ministry!
Please stand in prayer, agreement, and faith to help pray in the funding to reach our required financial budget through our year end giving campaign, which will help establish us and strengthen us through year end and into the Spring of next year. We need this victory! Thank you for your vital prayers!
Also, we are almost out of Spanish Bibles and Spanish Purples books. They are going out quickly to people who are hungry for the Word of God! The BCM Discipleship ministry is spreading rapidly in Baja and bearing much fruit! We have more than 41,000 people who have started this Bible study course and more than 18,000 who have completed the discipleship work book since May of 2007. The poor are getting needed tools to help them grow rich in faith (James 2:5). Help us "pray in" the funding for at least 5,000 more Spanish Bibles and 5,000 more Spanish Purple Books. More info about BCM's Discipleship ministry can be obtained here:

Thanks for your vital prayers, encouragement, generous giving and diligent and excellent hands on service! It is much appreciated!
May God bless you abundantly!
Harvesting Baja together with and for our King!
