Baja Christian Ministries Update and Prayer Letter 4/6/10

Dear Prayer Partner,

Our God is on the move in Baja! It is so refreshing to watch what He is doing in the lives of many there and also in the hearts of those serving them!  We have had an awesome year thus far and are off to a great start to a very busy month of groups serving with us!

Rolling Hills Christian Church of El Dorado Hills, CA, brought a team of 120 enthusiastic and eager young people last week. They left Mexico filled with joy after building 6 homes and sharing the love of Christ with many! On top of the 6 beautiful homes, many came to Christ, and 210 Bibles and Purple Books were distributed and discipleship groups started. My short report doesn't do justice to the magnitude of what took place during this mission expedition!  There are hundreds of photos and lots of joy filled thoughts circulating on facebook right now. We plan on having a video soon to share some of their joy, and our joy, with you!

Just days before Rolling Hills Church came we had a wonderful young adults team from Bel Air Presbyterian Church called the "Foundry".  They  built a house, went out in evangelism with us and served many children through ministry. One of their members, Jon Stoll, produced an amazing 1 minute and 40 second, time-lapse video of the house build I wanted to share with you. Enjoy:

One week before that King's Elementary School of Seattle, WA, funded a home, and College Park Church of Long Beach, CA, built the home. Tony Jacob produced a great video synced to Newsboys song, "God of All Nations". Enjoy:

Baja Earthquake Report: The quake shook quite a bit to bring people nervously out of their homes this Resurrection Sunday, but no significant damage was done! I spoke to BCM team members Ramon, Hector and Pablo, and we got word from others from our team in different parts of Tijuana also:  All is well! A shake up yes, but all is fine! Praise be to our God!

Paul Bagai and his youth group of 42 members from First Presbyterian Church of Hayward, CA, were being brought through the border Sunday afternoon at the time of the earthquake. They are all fine and got to the ranch where they are staying safely. They had some rain yesterday, but persevered, and are making great progress on the two houses they are building. 

Australian recording artist Lucas Parry and his wife Jody, are bringing in a team  from Spring Hill, Tenn, this Thursday to build two houses and to do evangelism and Bible/Purple Book ministry with us. They are founders of "Go Network" and "Go Concerts" purposed  to marry music and media to help stir the church into global mission. Check out more about Lucas and Jody's ministry here :

Beachpoint Community Church, Fountain Valley, CA, is bringing a team led by pastor Bill Stafierri and Gregg Keenen to build to  2 homes.

Newport Mesa Church, Costa Mesa, CA,  is bringing a team led Laura Sturdevent  to buid 1 home.

Loyola High School, Agoura Hills, CA, is bringing a team led by Chris & Andrew Laubach to build 1 home.

Irvine Presbyterian Church, Irvine, CA, is bringing a team led by Eric Smith to build 1 home.

Kelly and Friends, Malibu, CA, is bringing a team led by Kelly Gerhart to build 1 home.

Please cover all these teams in your prayers, asking our great God to bless them and protect them and their possessions and fill them with fullness of joy in His Presence. Pray also that all the logistics would flow smoothly. Please also pray that many lives will be brought in to the kingdom of God through our joint ministries.  Your prayers have been so powerful and effective! Thank you so very much!
