Dear BCM Partners,

Our God has called us to the Great Commission--to make disciples of the nations! We are committed to doing that in Baja Mexico where the harvest is ripe! We have an excellent opportunity to share a significant part in an eternal investment!

We can all help, even from this side of the border, in the discipleship process of more than one million people in Tijuana and the Baja pennisula, laying a solid Biblical foundation in their lives. We have set this as a 20 year goal, yet we believe it can be reached much sooner if we have the funds to do so. How do we solve this shortage of financial resources? Allow me to share some possiblities...., but first I'd like to share a short video interview we did last weekend in Baja produced by David Angulo, and then a brief history of how this all got started, the beginnings to what has become an effective evangelism--discipleship ministry:

How it all got started....

Back in May of 2007 we started a plan that developed into a program we call the "BCM Bible/Purple Book Program" . We started with a single woman whom we asked to be a group leader of 25 people. We gave her a box of 25 Spanish Bibles and 25 Spanish Purple Books. We asked her to involve friends and neighbors in doing a study of the Bible using the Purple Book, a book of over 500 questions that can only be answered by looking up the given scripture verse to answer them. They then write the answer in themselves.

We set up a meeting with a precious Southern California couple. We prosposed to them our plan, which they studied and prayed about. Later they committed to giving us $100,000 for the first year! Our first year goal was to distribute 10,000 Bibles and 10,000 Purple Books with BCM leadership follow up, encouragement and accountability to complete the books. We reached our distribution goal! The next year we again met with this couple. We reported and submitted again our proposal. This time our goal was to distribute 20,000 additional sets along with follow up through added leaders we hired. This amazing couple commited to giving us $200,000 more! We distributed 22,000 that year. The third year is this year. We set the goal at 30,000 sets to be distributed. The couple committed to giving $150,000 more. We are halfway through this year (started in August 2009) and already have distributed an additonal 15,000. The total thus far over the 2 1/2 years is over 45,000 distributed, and over 21,000 people have completed the Purple Book through this growing and thriving network of 1,200 groups, 600 of whom have been or are overseen by pastors in Baja who are served by our 6 fulltime BCM staff members in Baja.

The demand for Bibles and Purples books is growing leaps and bounds. This is a good kind of problem! The diffucult thing is that we have outgrown our funding from this generous couple who have underwritten more than 85-90% of the total program, which includes Bibles, books, staff salaries, gasoline, phones and other expenses.

Habakkuk 2:2 states, "Write the vision and make it plain on tablets, that he may run who reads it. For the vision is yet for an appointed time..."

For this vision, I believe the appointed time is now! Through this letter and other things that have been sent, I hope that this vision to reach one million souls, and the strategy of how to do it, is becoming plain and clear. Now at this phase we grealty need more runnners to take the torch and move this effective "ministry working net" forward to complete its task. The ministry mechanism is securely in place, only the funding is needed! We need runners to secure the funding to do this battle for souls. Please read through my points of practical ways that we can together reach the million souls! It's so do-able! The harvest is there already!

1) Remember to pray! Keep this quest in your prayers and help pray in the needed funding!

2) Ask leadership in your church if you or one of the BCM team could take 10 minutes in a Sunday or mid-week service, men's breakfast, women's Bible study, home Bible study meeting, etc... to make a short presentation and then take an offering for our program. Also we need runners to set up meetings with Christian business people to present this opportunity!

3) Along with raising the money to fund and build homes, to ask the teams if they are willing to raise additonal funds to support this life changing program.

4) Gather a team from your church, with some bi-lingual translators if possible, to go to Baja communities for a day trip and work with our BCM evangelism tag team. They would go into unreached communities and invite the locals, through spontaneous invitation, to a gathering where we share testimonies, present the gospel, pray with the people, give out Bibles and Purple books to the new believers, and appoint a group leader. And at some point during this trip take up an offering from your team to help keep this ministry going!

5) BCM gives a Bible and Purple Book to each person and a personal diploma to each who finishes this Bible study course. We also provide BCM leadership to start up, visit once a month, and encourage the appointed group leader, helping his or her group of 25 or more finish the course. This usually takes between 3-5 months. We have figured our total cost for BCM to keep this program going is about $10 a person. So donations can be made to support 1 person or more at this simple rate. Our 17 year goal then would be to raise 10 million dollars to reach one million people. To make a donation see info at this link:http://www.bajachristian.org/first-fruit-financial-donation Please note your gift for "BCM Purple Book Program".

We need runners to carry this Baja ministry torch! Will you be one of them?

Dear Prayer Partner,

We are off to a great start and a very promising year of house building and evangelism/discipleship ministry in 2010 thanks to our awesome God, wonderful partners, and your vital prayers!

Rock Harbor Church of Costa Mesa, CA, sent a team to build two homes for needy families in Rojo Gomez a couple of weekends back. The conditions were muddy yet they turned out great blessings for these poor families. Enclosed is a photo slideshow of their expedition synced to Newsboys song devotion produced by David Angulo:

2 Corinthians 1:11--NLT states, " He will rescue us because you are helping by praying for us. As a result, many will give thanks to God because so many people's prayers for our safety have been answered."

Your prayers have been so vital and appreciated! They have been answered, keeping our teams and staff safe and blessed! Thank you!

We have two more teams serving with us this weekend. One team has already started in:

Home for Home Program of Washington State: The Home for Home team led by Chad and Jon Youngquist are hard at it right now building two homes. The rain has held thus far. Tomorrow they will go out with our BCM evangelism tag team to lead lives into God's Kingdom and start on the path of discipleship through the Bible/ Purple Book ministry.

San Clemente Presbyterian Church: The San Clemente team led by Chris Dollar and Dean Monahan are arriving this afternoon to start their house build. We will also go out together with them tommorrow to bring lives to Christ and work with them in the Bible/Purple Book ministry.

Please lift these teams, our staff, and our families in your prayers! Pray that God will bless and protect us and our possesions. Pray that God will fill us with the fullness of joy of His presence, His unfailing springs of life and compassion, His peace that passes understanding and His love that passes knowledge.

Thank you for your powerful and effective prayer covering!

May God bless you abundantly!

Dear Prayer Partner,

God's grace has opened wide doors of opportunity and extended abundant blessing to this ministry and to the many who are carrying the Baja torch through prayer, giving and service! Thank you for standing in the gap and running the race with us! Exciting things are transpiring through your prayers and the grace, guidance and empowerment of our King!

Rock Harbor Church: This weekend we have another wonderful team from Rock Harbor Church of Costa Mesa led by Paul Deese, Rob Hammond and Aaron Young, building 2 houses and many lives for Jesus! Rain is threatening this weekend. Please pray that God would pave the way for their victory and completion of the homes and that He would surround them with His joy, blessing and protection.

Home for Home Team: This team from Washington state, after finishing their last project a few weeks ago in January, are coming back to Baja again in two weeks to join us to build 2 more homes. Then they are coming back again in April to build another two homes for two leadership families of Nueva Creacion Rehab Center, a very godly, effective Holy Spirit environment outside TJ. This anointed ministry is rescuing once criminal and wrecked lives and is effectively transforming them into fervent soldiers of our King!

A few weeks back the Home for Home team built a home and storefront connected to this family's home to replace the home and store that was burnt down by a fire. After their last trip one of the team leaders and co-founders, Chad Youngquist, writes, "Bob, I had to start keeping a journal of all the financial miracles happening to us and those around us since starting our program. I can't wait to tell you about the recent ones. I'm watching people, flat broke, getting their socks blessed off them for joining our teams and committing to the Lord's work when the world says they should be out looking for a job. And to add to that, those people are getting their lives lit up for God. Incredible..."

Dear Prayer Partner,

God has blessed BCM with an abundance of wonderful teams coming down to build with us this December and through year-end. Some were replacing homes for families who lost theirs to fires. Others were building homes in rainy and muddy conditions. Last weekend, God opened a way to get all four homes completed in spite of the rain! The gospel also went forth! Thanks so much for your vital and effective prayers that paved the way!

Tomorrow we have a team coming in from Loyola High School of Augora Hills, CA, led by Andrew Laubach and his dad, Chris Laubach. Chris was telling me that his son, Andrew, who is in High School at Loyola, has been passionate about this project and that he has raised most of the money and recruited friends from the High School. Thank God for young compassionate leaders! They are coming in tomorrow to build a home for a grandma and grandpa, and their three nephews who badly need this home to replace the leaky make-shift rooms they are presently staying in.

Please pray that God would mightily protect them and abundantly bless them. Pray that God will fill them with the fullness of joy in His presence, His peace that passes understanding and His love that passes knowledge!

Speaking of young people...we had an amazing team of college students from Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo, CA, primarily from the Campus Crusade for Christ, down with us last weekend. This team, led by Taylor Redmond, came with enthusiasm, encouragement, and energy to spare. They also raised all the money to build the two houses and helped with a third home that needed to be finished. At the end of the trip they went even further and blessed us with a financial gift from the extra funds they had raised, which further helps our ministry's year-end fund-raising effort. I will report more on this fun-loving team with a photo video that will be produced soon.

Due to the road conditions it was difficult to get over to another home being lovingly built by San Clemente Presbyterian's team, led by Dean Monahan. They worked through the rain and mud to build a beautiful home for a needy family pictured below with team:

LifeSprings Church also brought a team led by Daniel and Lisa Strand and Ernie Maes. They worked hard and joyfully in the rain and mud building the home, and sent another team out to share the gospel. A good size group came out in the rain to hear the good news and many were led to the Lord, prayed for and started on the Bible and Purple Book program with a group leader. See Daniel Strand's inspiring video synced to Newsboys, "Something Beautiful":

David Angulo also produced a wonderful BCM video with photos of Doug Ament and Rob Curtis's team that built the weekend before, along with LifeSprings' team and other photos and video clips. It's called "Secret Kingdom", and is synced to Newsboys song of the same name. See it here:

Hello BCM Partner,

It has been an honor to partner with you in prayer, giving, encouragement, and hands on service on both sides of the border. We had a very fruitful year of ministry even though we had many obstacles to overcome in 2009. We are looking forward to a very promising 2010.

As you probably know, this ministry operates on donations, and year-end giving is quite important to our sustenance. May I ask you to prayerfully consider BCM in your year-end giving? Large or small, every gift makes a difference! Thanks so much!

Our God is amazing! It is such a pleasure to serve with Him and His people in both Word and Deed in the ripe harvest fields of Baja! We have another big weekend of ministry ahead of us as three teams roll in this weekend to build houses and lives for Jesus!

I thank our God for this wonderful rain in Southern California...we need it so badly! What a blessing it is! Meantime, I ask for a special prayer request regarding those three teams that are coming in to build houses and do evangelism and outreach this weekend: These dusty Tijuana villages when it's dry is one thing, but when it pours down rain these roads and surrounding areas turn into slippery mud bogs. Please pray that God opens the way for us to complete our mission this weekend with success, safety, and great blessing. Thank you very much for your prayers of faith !

As to last weekend, the San Diego team led by Doug Ament and Rob Curtis, along with our BCM team, built two nice solid homes for needy families. Also more than 75 people came to the Lord and were given and started on the Bible and Purple Book study course. One house build site was a replacement of a house that was burnt down by fire. BCM's Ramon Chavez received testimonies from these two families that he translated and sent to me. I wanted to share these words of gratitude from them with you:

Miriam Maribel Perez and her children, Enoelia, Neyva, Evelin Karen, and Henry from the community of Altiplano, writes, "With great gratitude I write this letter, thanking the group of brothers for building us a home. The house that we used to have the government tore it down. My daughter was in a coma because of meningitis. Then after we lost our job because the company that we worked for closed down, so we had no money to build a new home and the government forgot about us, so they never helped us. Thank you for considering us, and building us this new home. May God bless you all today, tomorrow, and forever, so that you can keep on blessing other families in need. A thousand thanks."

Raul Rodriguez Santiago, his wife Maria Flor Lopez and their children, Brenda, Amarnay and Keyla, from Maclovio Rojas, write this, "We thank our Lord Jesus Christ for blessing us in such a big way! He blessed us with a beautiful new house! Brothers, I want you all to know how wonderful and great is our God! Our house was one of the ones that burnt down, but God is faithful and keeps His promises that through His Son Jesus we where blessed with a new home.To all the brothers and sisters who helped build this house, may our Lord bless and protect you all. "Blessed Is Our Father Who Is In Heaven".

Tonight, Friday, Dean Monahan, Chris Dollar and their team from San Clemente Prebysterian Church, are rolling in, ready to start one house tomorrow.

Tomorrow, Saturday morning, Daniel Strand and Ernie Maes are bringing a team mostly from LifeSprings Church of Torrance to build a home for a family who lost their home in the fire. Funds for the house were provided by a private donor.

Sunday monring, Taylor Redmond and his team of college students from Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo, will roll in to build two homes.

These teams will also be engaged in evangelism and outreach along with our BCM evangelism tag team.

Along with a way of victory through the rain please also ask God's mighty blessing and protection upon them and their possessions. Please also pray that God would fill them with the fulness of joy in His Presence, His love that passes knowledge and His peace that passes understanding. Please also pray that many will be saved and that all would be ministered to and encouraged greatly!

In Job 29:16-KJV it states this about Job the man of God, "I was a father to the poor: and the cause which I knew not I searched out." NASV states it this way, "I was a father to the needy, And I investigated the case which I did not know". Job was an aggressive searcher of opportunities to serve the poor and the stranger in need.

Well, when Malibu Prebyterian Church was in Baja with us the opposite happened: A grandma in need came to search us out. Some of their leaders went with her and investigated her case and decided to build her the home she desired and badly needed.

Chris and Andrew Laubach and some of the Malibu team are bringing a team from Loyola High School of Augora Hills to build her, her husband, and three nephews a home as a Christmas gift to her in a little more than a week.

The ministry that the groups bring to many people and children is very encouraging and comforting and offers much hope. These children are the next generation of disciples in this precious nation. David Angulo produced a YouTube Video in English and also with Spanish subtitles of some of these precious Baja children synced to Hannah Ford's song, "Cradle Me". I hope you like it! I hope it ministers and encourages you:

Joseph was given the name "Barnabas", which means, "Son of Encouragement" (Acts 4:36). Encouragement! What a sweet gift from God given directly and also through His people! Fear and discouragement is a great enemy of our souls! Fear is the fiercest giant in the land we face. But when "Encouragement in the Lord" faces off with fear, the way is made clear. 1Samuel 30:6 states, when King David was greatly distressed, he encouraged himself in the Lord. The Word of God was David's indomitable sword, to take that giant down. Scripture speaks of the importance of encouraging one another: Therefore encourage one another and build up each other, just as in fact you are doing.
Thank you for your prayers that have been so vital and effective! BCM has a pretty busy December ahead of us in house building and ministry! After last week when we had Mariners Church, the Crossing Church, Building Champions Across the Border, and Pillar Development/Home For Home Program bring so much blessing to many poor families in various communities...again, the blessing of our Lord continues!

This morning a team from San Diego led by Doug Ament and Rob Curtis has been working away to build two houses for poor families outside TJ. One of these families lost their home in a recent fire. A friend and partner of the ministry gave funding for a house allowing for a second home to be built for this family who suffered this loss through fire. Our BCM evangelism tag team also worked with them in the surrounding areas around the homes being built. Thanks for your prayers, for God's protection and blessing!

Next weekend we have have more teams coming to serve: San Clemente Prebyterian Church and Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo are coming to build. Also, another friend and partner gave a gift to fund a home. I asked Daniel Strand if he would pull a team together to build it. Even with this short notice he has pulled together a team to replace the home of this other family who lost their home through this same fire.

Also, when Chad Youngquist, Craig Ronning and the Home for Home team was with us last week they met, by divine arrangement, another family who lost a home and a small store to a fire in another location. Home for Home chose to come back again to replace the loss of this family by building a home and small store for them. If you are on facebook you can read more of the story here:

http://www.facebook.com/group.php?gid=106965453961&v=info#/pages/Home-for-Home-Program/135188933194?ref=ts

Also, that same weekend, Taylor Redmond, a student from Cal Poly, San Luis Obisbo, is leading his third team, three years in a row, of fellow students from this college, to build two homes for needy families Dec 13-15.

While Malibu Presbyterian Church was building with us a few weeks ago, a grandma that lives in a very leaky patchwork house approached us. Several leaders from Malibu Pres: Mike Mudgett, Phil Dunn, Tim Jones, and Chris Laubach visited her home with us. They assessed the need and decided to come back Dec 19-20 to build a home for her, her husband and 3 nephews. Chris Laubach and his son Andrew have pulled a team together from Loyola High School to build this home on the weekend of Dec 19-20.

Please keep all of these teams in your prayers as they make preparations to serve our King in this needy, ripe harvest field of Baja!

This is our BCM house build and ministry schedule in the month of December through year end:

Dec 5 Doug Ament,Rob Curtis, Pasquale Russo and team from, Point Loma CA to build 2 homes

Dec 11-13 Dean Monohan, San Clemente Presbyterian Church, CA to build 1 home

Dec 12-13 Youngquist family and Pillar Development/ Home For Home Program to build 1 home

Dec 12-13 Chris Wade, Daniel Strand and team from Life Springs Church of Torrance to build 1 home

Dec 13-15 Taylor Redmond and team from Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo, CA to build 2 homes

Dec 19-20 Chris & Andrew Laubach, Loyola High School, Agoura Hills & Malibu Presbyterian Church 1 home

Dec 26-30 Tim & Micah Holck and team from Lake Meade Christian Academy, NV to build 1 home

Dec 28-30 John Houston and team from Community Covenant Church El Cajon, CA to build 1-2 homes + 1-2 latrines

Dec 28-Jan 4 Ingrid Klein and team from Teen Mania/Global Expeditions to build to 2 homes

Now faith is the substance of things hoped for and the evidence of things not seen (Heb 11:1) ...through your prayers and the help given by the Spirit of Jesus Christ...(Phil 1:19) ...calling things that are not as though they were...(Rom 4:17) ...believing that you have recieved it and it will be yours (Mark 11:24)... help us by your prayers. Then many will give thanks on our behalf for the gracious favor granted us in answer to the prayers of many. (2Cor 9:11-NIV) The prayers of the righteous man/woman is powerful and effective (James 5:16)

With these Scripture verses and promises in mind, I ask you to please help us through your prayers..."to pray the specific amount money in" that is needed, at this time, for this ministry!

Please stand in prayer, agreement, and faith to help pray in the funding to reach our required financial budget through our year end giving campaign, which will help establish us and strengthen us through year end and into the Spring of next year. We need this victory! Thank you for your vital prayers!

Also, we are almost out of Spanish Bibles and Spanish Purples books. They are going out quickly to people who are hungry for the Word of God! The BCM Discipleship ministry is spreading rapidly in Baja and bearing much fruit! We have more than 41,000 people who have started this Bible study course and more than 18,000 who have completed the discipleship work book since May of 2007. The poor are getting needed tools to help them grow rich in faith (James 2:5). Help us "pray in" the funding for at least 5,000 more Spanish Bibles and 5,000 more Spanish Purple Books.
Who gives strength and power to His people...(Psa 68:34-35-NKJV)

Dear Friend and Partner,

I am grateful to God for His divine and loving arrangements in bringing us together through His orchestration to link up and do deeds He has prepared in advance for us to do (Eph 2:10). I am also grateful for the strength, empowerment, and provision He has given to us to do so! I am grateful to God for calling us into partnership to reach Baja together through prayer, giving, encouragement, and hands on service! And I am thankful to God for this honor and for your heart to heed His call to unite with us to reach this ripe harvest field!

In the last 18 years God has graced, strengthened, and empowered our BCM team together with our wonderful partners to build 1604 houses, 34 church buildings, 23 community centers, classrooms and public service buildings, and 279 latrines. Through times of weakness and times of strength it's been a pleasure to partner with you in this fight of faith and noble quest! Our goal is to build 10,000 homes/church buildings in the next 17 years. We seek God's strength and provision to do so!

Since May of 2007 thru November of 2009 God has graced and strengthened this ministry to distribute 41,192 Spanish Bibles and Purple Books in the Baja Peninsula. 18,608 people have finished this 12 chapter, 54 lesson Bible Study workbook. 1,146 cell groups have started this discipleship course, 668 groups have finished the course. Our twenty year goal is to start 1,000,000 people on this and see them through to completion of the course. We seek God's strength and provision to do so.

Last year we had a number of challenges and obstacles we faced: swine flu media alerts in Mexico, drug war warnings, and economic downfalls, yet God strengthened us to finish the year in what I would proclaim to be a very victorious and fruitful year!

As we sojourn through these changing times that are growing more uncertain, trying and perverse, I believe it's important that we learn to strengthen our selves in the Lord as King David did (1Samuel 30:6). It's vital that we stay strong as we proceed through rough waters! Newsboys have produced a very encouraging and relevant song for such a time as this that encourages us to keep running the race! Daniel Strand has produced an inspiring video syncing this Newsboys song to recent Malibu Presbyterian and Cislo & Thomas Baja photos. Right beneath the video I also included a link to the lyrics of "Stay Strong". Enjoy:

Romans 15:4, states, "For everything that was written in the past was written to teach us, so that through endurance and the encouragement of the Scriptures we might have hope." I have included some Scripture verses related to staying strong in this perverse world. I hope they bring some measure of hope and encouragement to you:

Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord and in the power of His might. (Eph 6:10) Let the weak say, "I am strong." (Joel 3:10)... My strength is made perfect in weakness (2Cor 12:9)...weakness was turned to strength...(Heb 11:34) ...He delivered me from all my fears...(Psalm 34:4) May He strengthen you with power through His Spirit in your inner man...(Eph 3:16) ...inwardly being renewed day by day (2Cor 4:16) ...going from strength to strength...(Psa 84:7) ...being transformed from glory to glory into His likeness...(2Cor 3:18) Be strong and take heart all of you who hope in the Lord. (Psa 31:24)

Look to the Lord and His strength; seek His Face always. (1Chron16:11) Remember the Lord God, for it is He Who gives you power to get wealth (Deut 8:18) Wealth and honor come from You; You are Ruler of all things. In Your hands are strength and power to exalt and give strength to all. (1Chron. 29:12) ...ascribe to the Lord glory and strength. (1Chron 16:28) Splendor and majesty are before Him; strength and joy in His dwelling place. (1Chro 16:27) ...the joy of the Lord is our strength...(Neh 8:10) I can do everything through HIM Who gives me strength. (Phil 4:13)

So don't get tired of doing what is good. Don't get discouraged and give up, for we will reap a harvest of blessing at the appropriate time. (Gal 6:9 NLT) ...be strong and do not give up, for your work will be rewarded. (2Chron 15:7-NIV) And my God will meet all your needs according to His glorious riches in Christ Jesus. (Phil 4:19)

We are grateful to God and to you for responding to His call to pray for us, give to this ministry and serve with us on both sides of the border. Please continue to stand with us and strengthen our team, our families, our partners and the unfolding of the vision God has entrusted us with. Please pray that we will stay strong in health and the provision we need spiritually, emotionally, mentally, physically, and financially to finish the course God has set before us! Please continue to serve with us through prayer, giving, encouragement and service through year end and on through 2010. May I ask you also to pray and support our year end financial giving campaign! Its important that we raise a certain amount that is needed by year end! Pray also that it be a great success to prepare, strengthen, and launch us into a victorious 2010! If you desire to make a needed donation you can get more info and do so here:
