We are told in the book of James to "look after orphans and widows in their distress..."  Since the inception of Baja Christian Ministries, orphans and widows have been a concern of ours.  Widows, and their children, are often chosen to be recipients of built houses.  Orphans and abandoned children have been cared for by special partners of the ministry.

Through the years, BCM has been involved in a number of orphanages.  Presently BCM is working alongside Sergio Gomez and Baja Vision to operate the "City of Angels" orphanage in Tecolote which is home for about 45 children.  BCM has built many buildings, dormitories, and bathroom facilities, along with Sergio and his teams.

There are a number of children abandoned to the streets.  There are also children of prisoners that are often forced to live in the prison with their parents because they have no place else to go.  Others are the children of prostitutes.  Sometimes, families are so poor that parents are unable to care for their children.  These children, along with orphaned and abandoned children, are some of the candidates that end up in the orphanages of Baja.  Psalm 27:10 says, "Though my father and mother forsake me, the Lord will receive me."

Let's be like the hands of the Lord.  If you as an individual, or as a group, would like to become involved with the orphanage work, or support a child, please contact BCM.
