The BCM Team

Bob Sanders

Bob Sanders has been serving the poor of Mexico since 1984 when he led groups from Azusa Pacific University on short-term outreaches. In September 1991, he founded Baja Christian Ministries. Bob is an evangelist and a visionary. His commission is to build up and equip God's people for works of service among the poor (Eph. 4: 11-12). His passion is to stir many into love and good deeds (Heb. 10:24-25), and to build a network of partners--a vanguard army--to reach Baja communities simultaneously for Jesus Christ. Isaiah 58 has been a scripture dear to Bob's heart. This, Acts 20:20, and 2 Cor 1:10-11 are the foundation of this Ministry. Bob believes, "The poor have few earthly advocates, and believes the body of Christ, must be their voice and serve them through Christ's love," He sees his main role as sharing the vision of Baja Christian Ministries with groups and individuals throughout the United States and the world and networking partners. Part of that function is raising funds, provide oversight, networking partners, relationship building, Hebrews 10:24-25 communication, building in the multiplier and doing the work of evangelism in the communities amongst the US and Mexican groups. He is joined in this ministry with his wife, Janet, and four children: Rebekah, Joshua, Timothy, and Joseph and two grandchildren.

Cheryl faithfully serves as BCM's Director of operations and is the backbone of the daily ministry operations since 1992. Cheryl does a lot of everything! She schedules the team outreaches and coordinates the myriad of details necessary for U.S., Mexico, and Canadian groups serving in Mexico and so much more. Her steadiness, persistence, and solid commitment to her God-given role brings a great stabilizing effect to the ministry. She is ready to help make your ministry experience the most efficient and rewarding. She is a great blessing to this ministry! She has three grown children and two grandchildren. Her family resides in Chino Hills, California.

Originally a recipient of one of the homes built through BCM in 1993, Hector has become a wise, diligent, organized, tireless and dedicated leader. He coordinates all of the BCM construction preparation in Mexico along with Cheryl Walker, and leads many house building groups. Hector is soft-spoken, but has a great deal of wisdom and insight in structuring effective ministry in Mexico. Hector is a master group leader. With excellence he has trained many group leaders. He is quite skilled at applying enough pressure and enough confidence and encouragement in the groups he leads to build beautiful homes in a timely manner. Hector has also become an effective evangelist and often travels outside of the Tijuana area on extended outreaches to penetrate Baja with the gospel. Hector, his wife Lorena, five children, and five grandchildren live in the community of Pipilia.

Pastor Feliciano Carrasco

Feliciano is a pastor along with his wife who is also an ordained pastor, and they together oversee two churches, one is called "CENTRO MISIONERO MISERICORDIA #1" in the community of Terrazas Del Valle with a regular attendance of 120 members, and the other is "C.M.M #2" which was just founded a couple of months ago in the community of Santa Cruz with an attendance of 35 members. Feliciano has been overseeing Region #3 which is in the north/east part of the city of Tijuana for the past four years. He and his wife are involved in various forms of service to the community, they have a kitchen at their larger church where they provide b/fast to the children of that community on a semi-regular weekly basis depending on funds available, they also asses and help to place individuals with alcohol and drug addiction problems in rehab centers, they minister to battered wives and help with placement at half-way homes for them and their children, Feliciano is also employed at a construction firm and is a soils compaction inspector. When Feliciano was first hired it was agreed that because of his very busy schedule he would be on a probation type employment position to see if he could keep up with all that is involved in the signing up and follow up of groups into the PB discipleship program. He has more than proven himself in these past four years by keeping up with all that is required of him in regards to his employment with BCM as a Regional Director, and many of the photos taken of groups while they are studying have come from the region he oversees.

Pastor Niko Rodriguez

Niko is a pastor and the name of his church is MONTAÑA DE JIREH"  with a regular attendance of 45 to 50 members, they live in the community of ROJO GOMEZ which is in the eastern part of Tijuana, he is responsible for Region #1, which is the area where most of the BCM houses and churches have been built in the past five years since he started working full time with us. Niko is generally the one P.B. Reg/Dir who goes out to evangelize alongside Ramon Chavez, and start new PB groups with the house build teams. Since most of the building is done in the region he oversees, Niko is very busy on weekends with the build teams, and also takes many of the photos that have been posted in the past of people receiving Bibles and Purple Books. Niko and his wife Griselda are also involved in ministering to single mothers, by helping them with a weekly larder and also with counseling in their ministry called "Servidores por Cristo"

Paul (Pablito) Anschuetz

Serving as a school teacher in San Diego county Paul came down as a member of a house building team from his church. He was impacted dramatically and started to serve as a volunteer house building contractor and group leader on a weekly basis. As of June 2008 he was hired full time as a construction group leader and a whole lot more. We are still in the process of raising his monthly support. "Constantly amazed at his Father’s blessing in giving such a rich occupation, Paul is quick to love (John13:35), joke, smile, and cry. His joy is meeting new brothers and sisters that he will know forever and serving the poor in Baja, Mexico. Christ is made known, and he loves to be a small part of that! What a great God we serve! Paul also occasionally preaches in the churches around Tijuana.

Pastor Vicente Morales

Vicente is the pastor of "TODOS DEBEN DE SABER QUIEN ES JESUCRISTO" a church located in central Tijuana, with a regular attendance of 130 members, he oversees Region #5 which encompasses north/west Tijiuana and he does so on a voluntary basis with only communication equipment provided for him. Vicente is a very busy individual, who I believe has a tremendous God given gift of being able to not only inspire many to service but also in delegating responsibilities to ensure that the things he is impassioned to do for God in the city of Tijuana get done... He currently holds the office of President of the Pastors Evangelical Association/Alliance of Tijuana, which has a membership of approximately 1,900 pastors of which 490 regularly attend the meetings. His organization is involved in many types of service to the poor and marginalized in many areas of Tijuana and his church building is a type of commissary where foods and other types of goods flow through to be distributed, to the many poor in Tijuana: at landfills/dumps, in the canals where many of the homeless live, at rest homes, in rehab centers, and halfway homes etc.... He is also responsible for placing and maintaining a large sign on the tallest hill in Tijuana which reads: JESUCRISTO ES EL SEÑOR, each letter is approx 100 feet long and this sign has to be cleared of shrubs and painted once or twice a year, since it is placed right on the sloping ground of the hill. This sign can be read from most parts of western Tijuana. Vicente was also a member of Gideons International for 26 years and held the post of president for 8 years in the Northern Baja Region..... Bob and I have known Vicente for over twenty years and know him to be a man with a strong desire and passion to serve, and to reach as many as possible for our Lord Jesus Christ, in the city of Tijuana.

Many groups have graduated at this prison, and BCM has the privilege of hosting two graduation celebrations at this facility complete with the presentation of a diploma to each graduating inmate, and providing a delicious meal and a hygiene kit to each graduate of the Purple Book. Eduardo and his wife also run a small house cleaning business of which they are its only two employees,  and twice a week in the mornings they work together cleaning houses.

Samuel is also on the administrative council in the denomination he belongs to, which is called “ IGLESIA DE DIOS EN MEXICO EVANGELIO COMPLETO” or Complete Gospel Church of God in Mexico. This has served to promote the Discipleship Program East and South of Tecate among the many pastors he is in contact with in northern Baja.
