Why is Prayerful Evangelism and Discipleship so Vital? Because… God our Savior, wants all men to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth. (1Tim. 2:3-4--NIV) Therefore, I exhort, that first of all, supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks, be made for all men…(1Tim. 2:1-3) Because … The Lord is not…willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance. (2Pet. 3:9) ...on some have compassion, making a difference: And others save with fear, pulling them out of the fire…(Jude 22-23)...become all things to all people so that by all means (you) might save some. (1Cor 9:22-NRSV) Because…He commands all people everywhere to repent. (Acts 17:30-31-NIV) They perish because they refuse to love the truth and so be saved (2Thes 2:10-NIV) Pray for one another. (Ja. 5:16) ...continuously! (1Thes 5:17-NIV) ...be instant... (2Tim 4:2) …and compel them to come in that My House may be filled. (Luke 14:23) Because… He has committed to us the ministry of reconciliation. We are therefore Christ’s ambassadors, as though God were making His appeal through us (2 Cor. 5:19-20-NIV)…Proclaim the Message; be persistent whether the time is favorable or unfavorable; convince, rebuke, and encourage, with the utmost patience in teaching. (2Tim. 4:1-2-RSV) ... and compel them to come in...(Luke 14:23) Because... there is one God and one Mediator between God and man, the man Christ Jesus Who gave Himself as a ransom for all men…(1 Tim. 2:5-6--NIV) Salvation is found in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to men by Whom we must be saved. beginning God chose you to be saved through the sanctifying Because … you also were included in Christ when you heard the word of truth , the gospel of your salvation. Having believed, you were marked in Him with a seal, the promised Holy Spirit Who is a deposit guaranteeing our inheritance unto the redemption of those who are God’s possession to the praise of His glory (Eph 1:13-14-NIV) Because… the harvest is plentiful but the workers are few, Ask the Lord of the Harvest to send workers into His harvest field. Go! I am sending you out… (Luke 10:2-3--NIV) Rescue those being led away to death; hold back those staggering toward slaughter. If you say, “But we knew nothing about this,” Does not He who weighs the heart perceive it? Does not He Who guards your life know it? Will He not repay each person according to what he has done? (Pro 24:11-12--NIV) Because… an obligation is laid on me, and woe to me if I do not proclaim the gospel! For if I do this of my own will, I have a reward…I am entrusted with a commission. (1Cor 9:16-17—RSV) …I have made myself a slave to all, so that I might win more…I have become all things to all people, that I might by all means save some. I do all for the sake of the gospel, so I may share in…the prize. Run in such a way that you may win it. (1Cor. 9:24—RSV) Because…The fruit of the righteous is a tree of life and he who wins souls is wise (Prov 11:30) The reaper already is receiving wages and gathering fruit for eternal life, so that the sower and reaper may rejoice together. (Jo 4:36-38—RSV) You did not choose Me, but I chose you to go and bear much fruit—fruit that will last. (Jo 15:16) Because… whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved. How then shall they call on Him in whom they have not believed? And how shall they believe in Him of Whom they have not heard? And how shall they hear without a preacher? And how shall they preach, except they be sent? (Rom. 10:13-15) I heard the voice of the Lord, saying, whom shall I send, and who will go for us? Then said I, Here am I, send me. (Isa. 6:8) Go into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature (Mark 16:15) Because… for this purpose, I was appointed a herald…(1 Tim. 2:7--NIV) …I thank Christ Jesus our Lord, Who has enabled me, for that He counted me faithful, putting me into the ministry. (1Tim. 1:12) Let your conversation be always full of grace, seasoned with salt, so you may know how to answer everyone. (Col 4:6—NIV) Always be prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks you to give the reason for the hope that you have. (1Pet 3:15--NIV) Because…I am not ashamed of the Gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God to every one that believes…(Rom 1:16) ...whosever shall be ashamed of Me and My Words, of him shall the Son of Man be ashamed, when He shall come in His own glory, and in His Father’s, and the holy angels. (Luke 9:26) Preach the Word; be prepared… (2Tim 4:2—NIV) …keep your head in all situations, endure hardship, do the work of an evangelist, discharge all the duties of your ministry. (2Tim. 4:5—NIV) Because… He that says he abides in Him ought himself also to walk, even as He walked. (1Jo 2:6) …you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be My witnesses…to the ends of the earth. (Acts 1:8—RSV) All authority in heaven and earth has been given Me (Jesus). Go, therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the Name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything that I have commanded you…(Matt 28:19) Because…The Spirit of the Lord is upon me… He has anointed me to bring good news to the poor. He has sent me to proclaim release to the captives and recovery of sight to the blind, to let the oppressed go free, to proclaim the year of the Lord’s favor. (Lk 4:18-19—RSV) Go out quickly into the streets and alleys of the town and bring in the poor, the crippled, the blind and the lame. (Lk 14:21—NIV) Go out unto the highway and hedges, and compel them to come in that My House may be filled. (Lk 14:23) And remember, I am with you always, to the end of the age. (Matt 28:20-RSV)
